Quranic Islamic History Trip of a lifetime

This tour has been specifically designed for school and youth groups, making history previously confined to the classroom a real and tangible experience.

Follow in the footsteps of the Prophets, Sahaba, Generals and Heroes, visiting ancient cities, castles and battles sites as well as enjoying the sites, sounds and tastes of a newly emerging modern wonder that is Jordan.

Day 1 – Arrive Amman International Airport

Meals included: Dinner

Transfer from Airport to Petra for  hotel check-in followed by group Meet & Greet and dinner.

Free to relax for rest of the evening as we have an active few days ahead.

Day 2 – Petra – All Day

Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

After an early morning breakfast, we spend all day in Petra, a city needing no real introduction!

Day 3 – Karak Castle / Sahaba Maqaams / Dead Sea Resort

Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

This morning we head out after an early breakfast to the famous Salahuddin Castle in Karak.

Built by the Frankish knights, during the reign of Baldwin II, was occupied by the notoriously treacherous and brutal Reynald de Chatillion. Reynald broke the truce, which prompted Saladin to attack and defeat the crusader armies and to take control of Jerusalem.

We pass by the site of a significant battle fought during the Prophet Mohammad’s (peace be upon him) lifetime; the Battle of Mu’ta in 629 AD. Buried close by are the close companions who died in battle, Zaid bin Harithah , Ja’far bin Abi Talib and Abdullah bin Ruwahah.

Making our way past the famous Dead Sea, we stop for a fin filled afternoon at a Muslim run Resort. Here you enjoy a refreshing swim in the resort pools followed by a group buffet dinner.

Day 4 – Prophets Shuayb & Yosha / Sahaba Maqaams

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Enjoy another breakfast, with time to swim and play until check out. We then head north towards the city of Salt where the tomb of Yosha (upon him be peace), a Prophet who was the nephew of Musa (upon him be peace) and took his place as the leader of the Bani Israil after his death. He is known as Joshua in the Bible. Yosha (upon him be peace) was the great grandson of Prophet Yusuf (upon him be peace), his full name being Yosha bin Nun bin Afraeem bin Yusuf.

From here we travel through the Jordan Valley visiting the maqaams of the noble Sahaba Dirar bin Azwar and Abu Ubeida Bin Al-Jarrah.

We will enjoy lunch in one of the beautiful mosque gardens during the day.

When returning to Amman we stop at one of the largest shopping malls in Amman, Mecca Mall. Take the chance to relax, look around, do any shopping you may like to do and enjoy a meal at the local food court.

Day 5 – Amphitheatre & Citadel / Old Souks & Artisan Shopping

Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Time to head into downtown Amman, previously the ancient city of Philadelphia. We will explore the Roman amphitheatre and hilltop citadel taking in a view of the ancient city.

There is free time to enjoy the sites and sounds of the local souks in the balad before making our way to the popularly know Rainbow Street. A nice place for some delicious sweets or to get your coffee fix, while perusing the quirky arts and crafts scene that Amman has to offer.

Finally we gather at a famous Jordanian restaurant for a traditional and famous Jordanian meal.

Day 6 – Jerash & Ajlun

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast we head north to the old Roman city of Jerash. As one of the best preserved ancient Roman cities outside Italy it is also one of six Decapolis cities found within Jordan.

We will walk through Hadrian Arch and see colonnaded streets, hilltop temples, spectacular theatres, plazas, baths and public squares.

Once lunch is completed we will drive to Ajlun Castle built in the 12th century by Azz ad-Din Usama, the nephew of Salahuddin. A fine example of Islamic architecture, it served as a military fort to protect the region from invading crusader forces. The castle is beautifully preserved and is a popular attraction for both Jordanians and visitors.

Day 7 – Cave of the Seven Sleepers / Departure

Meals included: Breakfast

Depending on the time of your departure flight, we can arrange and optional tour in the morning to the Cave of the 7 Sleepers. The famous sleepers as described in the Quran.
